Name: Maná8
Price: 29.99 USD

Question 1

Do my friends need to buy or install anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Only the person who opens the circle needs Maná8. Friends point their phone camera at the QR code and play right in the browser — nothing to install, no account needed.

Question 2

How many people can play together?

Accepted Answer

Everyone plays a different instrument: you and up to 13 friends, 14 people in the circle at the same time. To switch, just go back and pick a free instrument.

Question 3

How long does a circle last?

Accepted Answer

2 hours. With 10 minutes left, the app lets you know and you can extend it by another 2 hours, once. When the circle ends, the guests' instruments stop too.

Question 4

Does the QR code change?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For security, the QR changes every minute. Whoever is already in keeps playing. Anyone who can't scan it can get the link via WhatsApp (the link also works for 1 minute).

Question 5

Do I need to know how to play?

Accepted Answer

No. Tap the instrument and the groove starts; stop, and it pauses. Each instrument has recorded grooves and up to 3 speeds. You don't need to nail the timing — the groove is already right, you just join in.

Question 6

Where does the sound come from?

Accepted Answer

You choose. Each on their own phone: every instrument plays on the phone of whoever is playing it, and anyone can connect their own speaker. Or all through the host's speaker: the host taps “Circle sound on my phone” and everyone's sound comes out of the host's phone, with the grooves locking into the same beat. You can switch anytime.

Question 7

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It works in the browser of any iPhone running iOS 13 or later and any modern Android with an updated Chrome. For the shaking instruments (can shaker, matchbox and the pandeiro's jingles), the iPhone asks permission to use motion — just accept it.

Question 8

Do I need internet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You and your guests need internet to open the app and join the circle. In “each on their own phone” mode, the sound comes from each device. In “all through the host's speaker” mode, internet is used for the whole circle: guests' phones send the host only small signals (which groove and whether they're playing), never audio.

Question 9

I'm left-handed. Does it work for me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pandeiro, cuíca, tantã, repique de mão and tamborim have left-handed and right-handed versions. You choose once and can change it in the menu.

Question 10

The sound lags on Bluetooth. Is that a bug?

Accepted Answer

It's not a bug: all Bluetooth audio has a small delay, in any app. In “all through the host's speaker” mode, the delay is the same for every instrument, so the circle stays together; you just feel a small gap between your tap and the sound. With wired headphones or a cabled speaker, the delay disappears.

Question 11

Can an iPhone be the central speaker?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Turn off silent mode and keep Maná8 open on screen during the circle. When you turn the mode on, the app plays a “ding”: if you hear it, you're all set.

Question 12

Can the host's phone handle every instrument?

Accepted Answer

On most phones, yes. On simpler devices, with many instruments at once, the sound may stutter; the app warns you. If it happens, just switch back to “each on their own phone”.

Question 13

Is there a photo at the end of the circle?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When the circle ends, the host snaps the crew right inside a polaroid frame, with the date, how many people played together and the circle's instruments. Everyone in the circle gets the same card to share. The photo stays only on the circle's phones: we don't keep anything on our servers. What each person shares is their own responsibility.

Question 14

Can I use it on two devices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each license allows up to 2 devices. If you switch phones, contact us at hello@poolmind8.com and we'll reset your registration at no cost.

Question 15

How do I receive my access password?

Accepted Answer

After purchase, you'll receive an email with your password. Use the same email from your purchase and this password to sign in. Keep it safe — it's your annual license.
